A Living Library of Wild Wisdom
NatureQuotes.com is an independent nature-writing and photography project created to cultivate attention, wonder, reflection, and connection. It brings together my original field reflections with carefully attributed words from writers, naturalists, conservationists, poets, and observers whose work has helped generations see the living world more clearly.
You will find the voices of Henry David Thoreau, Ralph Waldo Emerson, John Muir, and other field-rooted thinkers alongside newer reflections shaped by wildlife, weather, water, seasons, landscapes, farming, and time spent outdoors. Each quotation offers a mindful pause—a thought to carry into the field or through the day.
Words From the Field
My original quotations often begin with an encounter: morning light moving across a field, snow settling around an animal, a river changing after rain, birds responding to a season, or a landscape revealing relationships that are easy to miss when we move too quickly.
These reflections are written from observation, memory, photography, farming, and long attention to place. They are not substitutes for science or natural history. They are invitations to notice more closely and to remember that human life remains inseparable from the larger living world.
About the Creator
Meet Robbie George
My name is Robbie George. I am an independent, National Geographic–published wildlife and nature photographer, field observer, writer, and former organic farmer. My photography and writing are rooted in encounters with wildlife, landscapes, water, weather, agriculture, and the ecological relationships that connect species to place.
I am also the creator of Naturepedia™, a field-first ecological knowledge system, and the originator of Robbie’s Razor™. Those projects extend the same practice found here: begin with observation, preserve what matters, and follow the relationships that connect one part of the living world to another.
